Our value of sustainability

We are here to let you know that being ethical and eco friendly does matter; it matters a lot! It is at our very core. Environmental sustainability, maintaining people's communities and operating sustainably in business are things we value.

How do these values impact our day to day operations here in Australia and with our producers?

Here are just a few examples:

♻️ Many of our products are made from repurposed and recycled materials like leather, fabric and metals. Fabrics and leathers that would have ended up in landfill are given a new purpose in our homewares, blankets and personal care range.

🌴 The fashion and homeware items created from new raw materials are responsibly sourced and natural ( and not plastic) like soy wax, jute, coconut, bamboo, cotton and wool.

🎁 Your purchase is packaged up in recyclable or compostable boxes and satchels. We reuse many of the boxes we receive stock in, to store products or in our packaging. It's only the dirty and badly damaged boxes that end up in our recycling bins.

➮ We use carbon neutral couriers to get your orders to you.

💚 Our for Dignity brand uses recycled paper for all our printed cards and promotional materials. Our gift wrap is zero footprint carbon offset and certified chain custody sustainable plantation forest paper and we also offer reusable fabric gift wrap. Our office and warehouse runs on solar and green energy.

🤲🏼 Our producers use handcrafting techniques like hand spinning cotton, block printing with non-toxic dyes, hand stitching, hand made pottery, hand-poured candles, hand knotting and handwoven basket. Why is this more sustainable? It uses fewer energy resources and supports the craftsmanship that has sustained communities for generations.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Our producers have liveable wages, work in fair and safe environments and have their communities supported through various community programs. The backbone of our business, the women, the families and the community come first.

These are just a few of our sustainable values and practices. It is an area we continue to develop as we learn and understand more. We are far from experts, but we are working on walking the talk.
