Kantha Cushion - Burnt Orange
Soft and unique, this beautiful cushion is made from a recycled cotton sari. It's the only one of its kind! It takes an hour of careful hand stitching in even and straight rows to create this beautiful piece of work. This ancient craft of kantha stitching has meant many saris have been repurposed over the generations. We think Basha's workmanship is some of the best from its region!
Dimensions: 46cm x 46cm. Perfect size for a scatter cushion.
Colour: Front: orange and oatmeal patterned. Back: oatmeal plain
Cushion Insert ( if purchased in addition to cover): Cotton casing polyester filling.
Washing advice: These cotton cushions can be machine washed on a gentle, cold cycle after cushion insert is removed. The close stitching help maintain the shape of the cloth. To extend the life of the cushion, we suggest you limit the number of washes. The saris are washed before they are sewn and are washed again before shipping. They arrive soft, clean and beautiful.
This cushion has been kantha stitched by a Bengali woman who has now been restored from a high risk situation. Read more about locally recognised fair trade organisation, Basha.
