Swahlee is a social impact brand who create timeless, versatile living and home items made from high quality, sustainable fabrics. Birthed in 2018, this freedom brand was founded by Andrea, after working in community development and then in an aftercare home for trafficked girls.
With 80% of rescued people being re trafficked if they do not find safe and fair employment, Andrea recognised the great need for an ethical business that offered meaningful and good employment to rupture the cycle of exploitation. So she decided to do something about it.
Passionate also about changing the fashion industry's negative impact on the environment, she sought sustainable fabrics to create the brand's clothing and homeware collections. The remnant range is just one such range, using handloom woven fabrics from Freeset a WFTO certified company and remnant fabrics from the large fabric oversupply markets of India.
